Well, it's the end of May this year. The month that kicks off the release of summer flicks for the year. I know I could have reviewed these movies that I saw individually, but I've decided to go with something different. I shall be reviewing all the movies released this month that I have seen. :D

1) X-Men Origins: Wolverine- 9.4/10
This movie was a lot of fun. We got to see a backstory on one of the coolest X-Men to ever be brought alive. The story was well done, though I was surprised that they showed Logan running around naked, though I'm sure a few fangirls loved that. ^^; As for the cast, they did a pretty awesome job, though the last thing I expected was Ryan Reynolds, whom will appear in another summer movie, The Proposal. :XD: Even though he was only seen for a few minutes in the first half, and appeared way too much later. T_T In the end, this was a really good adaptation, much better than Spider-Man 3. No offense to those who liked that one. ^^;

2) Star Trek- 8.6/10
Although I've never seen the original Star Trek movies or TV show- the ones with William Shatner and not Patrick Stewart-, this was really cool. But my brother does know that this movie was something like Alternate Universe, compared to the originals. ^^; A lot of the story was pretty good, though it did tend to drag at some points. Though I have to give a hand to the new Kirk, whoever played him. He reminded me of Shatner's Kirk. Okay, fine! I admit it! I have seen a bit of some Star Trek stuff with Shatner as Kirk, okay?! :X That aside, this was a fairly good adaptation and a great rebirth of the series. Oh, and fans of the original Star Trek? You might be surprised to see which original Star Trek cast member makes a cameo in this movie. ;)

3) Angels & Demons- 7.5/10
To be fair, I never read the original book, unlike The Da Vinci Code. And as good as the acting seemed, with Tom Hanks reprising his role as Robert Langdon and Ewan McGregor as Patrick McKenna, the story seemed to drag on a lot and it kind of bored me out of my mind. ^^; However, if you're looking for a good mystery/thriller movie, this is the movie for you. ;)

4) Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian- 9.3/10
This movie takes place where the last movie left off. Larry is now a successful businessman, and he has invented some things such as a glow-in-the-dark flashlight. But soon, he learns that some exhibits are being imported to the Smithsonian museum. It isn't till a few days later that he has to go there to stop Kahmunrah from using the tablet to raise an army from the Underworld. Honestly, I thought the plot was very good, and I loved the all star cast. Hank Azaria was pretty funny as Kahmunrah, and Amy Adams' Amelia Earhart was pretty cool. Though it's funny, but whenever I see Amy Adams onscreen, I can't help but think about Giselle from Disney's Enchanted, which is ironic since amy played that role. ^^; Overall, this was a very good movie.

5) Terminator: Salvation- 9.6/10
All I gotta say was that this movie was epic. Just. Epic. X) But while I did see the first two Terminator films and not the entirety of Terminator 3, I was worried that this movie would spoil some things for me. Though I was surprised, because this movie blew me away. :D Christian Bale's portrayal of John Connor was pretty kickass, just as much as his role as Batman. But it was before this movie's release that I learned he was British. And when I learned that Helena Bonham Carter was in the movie as well, I practically jumped out of my seat, since I remember her from movies such as Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm sure those who saw Harry Potter 5 will recognize her as Bellatrix LeStrange. :XD: Though it was hard for me to comprehend Helena speaking in an American accent. :hmm: But still, this movie just. Kicked. Ass! :D

6) Disney-Pixar's Up- 10/10
I swear, this movie to me is the feel-good movie of the summer! ;) The movie tells the story of an old man named Carl Frederickson, who plans to travel to a place called Paradise Falls, a promise he kept to his deceased wife, Ellie. Along the way, Carl brings along other travelers, such as a Wilderness scout named Russell, a talking dog named Dug and a rare bird that Russell calls Kevin. The story was very well done (Then again, just about EVERY Pixar movie has a well-done storyline. :XD:), and the movie had me laughing through and through. The best lines would have to be spoken by Dug, since everything he said made me laugh. Especially the "SQUIRREL!" As for acting, it also was very well done. The movie's bad guy, Charles Muntz, was a really good villain. I recognized his voice actor, Christopher Plummer, really well because I remember him as the Grand Duke from Rock-A-Doodle. I also loved the visuals, making it look literally colorful. But all in all, you've GOT to see this movie! It's that good! ;) And the best format to view it in would have to be Disney Digital 3D. Erm.... depending if you can afford it. ^^; But that's not the point. You HAVE to see this! It is really, really, really, really...... (says really over and over for twenty-four hours straight) ...... really, REALLY brilliant! :D

And that just about wraps up my multi-review journal. Next month, I shall see and review Land of the Lost, The Proposal, Year One, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and any other June 2009 release that catches my interest. So.... g'night, everybody!

Hey, did you notice in "Wolverine" that when Sabretooth ran he really did look like a big cat sprinting?

you've seen the movie 'Up; already? I'm seeing it this weekend!
:iconessteka:
Logan was running naked!? Oh, well... Glad to see you enjoy the movie. Better than Spider-Man 3? If you said so, I didn't see it.

I think everyone are aware that Leonard Nimoy makes an appearance in that movie.

You can't go wrong with a guy who voiced plenty of characters in The Simpsons. :-)

I saw the first three Terminator movies. The fourth one seems pretty good too.

In my mind, Pixar is the only studios to made films that are ALL great films. I saw the "SQUIRREL!" part in one of the TV ad. It was very funny.

Speaking of Pixar, did you have seen the teaser for Toy Story 3?

One more thing I forgot to add: I'm pretty sure Christopher Plummer enjoyed his role in Up more than in Rock-A-Doodle.

"Now, if you excuse me, I'm off to get Abe Vigoda for Good Burger." XD
